Description

The Couven-Museum features the development of the bourgeois culture of living in the 18th and 19th century. It covers the following styles: Rococo, early Classicism, Empire style and Biedermeier period, Aachen Liège furniture of the 18th century, faiences, precious glass and porcelain. The Couven-Museum is located in a house built in 1787, which belonged to the old Aachen apothecary family of Monheim. Its current name originates from the famous Aachen architect Johann Joseph Couven.
