Korneliusmarkt square

The Korneliusmarkt is a beautiful example of the varied, typical architecture of the Voreifel region


Together with the Benediktusplatz square, the Korneliusmarkt forms the centre of Kornelimünster. The special feature of the architecture lies in the half-timbered and quarry stone houses, which are to be found throughout the district. Since the river Inde flows through the district, the entrance to the houses were built higher than normal as protection against flooding.
