There are many roads leading to Aachen.
Aachen is Germany’s westernmost city, and is situated in the border zone with the Netherlands and Belgium. To the south, Aachen borders the Eifel and Hohes Venn regions.
The nearest airports are Cologne Bonn Airport (85 km), Düsseldorf Airport (99 km) and Maastricht Aachen Airport (27 km) in the Netherlands, and Liège Airport (60 km) in Belgium.
There are currently several construction sites in Aachen. You can find an overview of the construction sites on the website of the city of Aachen.
Please pay particular attention to the closure of the A544. It is already closed out of town and will be completely closed in the next few months for the construction of a new bridge. Please avoid the closure and use other freeway junctions to get to the city center. On the A4 coming from Cologne or the Netherlands, we recommend the 'Aachen-Zentrum' exit. On the A44 coming from Düsseldorf or Belgium, we recommend the exit 'Aachen-Brand'. Please make sure to use the parking guidance system (signs with electronic parking space display) and follow the detour signs on site.
