Description
The Grashaus is one of Aachen's oldest buildings and is of great historical significance as the first town hall of the city. It was also used as a court and prison. Many a delinquent was publicly beheaded in the courtyard. Groups can visit the beautiful old document room and the Gothic vaulted ”chapel” on guided tours of the building's history.
Number of participants: max. 14 people per group, guided visits only in German language
Please note: This tour is only available in German! The Grashaus is the ”Europe” stop on the Route Charlemagne. It is an extracurricular learning centre and offers workshops on the topic of Europe for school classes from grade 7 onwards. Costs (2 hours): from € 230.
