Description
The ”Centre Charlemagne – New City Museum Aachen” in the heart of Charlemagne's former palatinate district between Cathedral and Town Hall brings to life the key stages of the city's history: ancient Aachen with its Roman monumental buildings, the Carolingian period, when Aachen became the centre of the Frankish empire, the city of coronations, the fashionable spa city of the Baroque era. However, the emergence into modernity up to the present day is also shown in many exciting exhibits, photos and multimedia presentations.
