Feminist art prize

Exhibition and award ceremony in the Ikob
The Ikob Museum of Contemporary Art has been awarding an art prize every three years with an explicitly feminist focus. A feminist art prize is therefore more important than ever during this period of the unchecked wave of political revanchism and right -wing populism. But there are also reasons enough not to let the heads hanging down, because feminist art practice is resilient and future -oriented. It offers alternatives and safe home for the most diverse life plans. These positions in contemporary art should be encouraged and strengthened - especially those who confront us with the complexity of body, identity and society and are not satisfied with simple answers. Utopia, eroticism, community, energy, resilience: Together with this art prize you go in search of a better future.
Artists with residence in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg or Germany were invited to apply for the Ikob - Feminist Art Award 2025. The following finalists were selected from the almost 450 applications that present their work in the associated exhibition:
Catherina Cramer, Cordula Ditz, Magdalena Frauenberg, Bethan Hughes, Myrthe van der Mark, Bernice Nauta & GC Heemskerk, Herlinde Raeman, Lynne Gbodjrou Kouassi & Nora Heidorn, Sophie Schmidt, Sandra Singh, and Huize You.
