Frankenberg Castle

In the heart of the Frankenberg district lies the legendary Frankenberg Castle from the 13th century.
There are many legends surrounding the former moated castle. Charlemagne is said to have given his third wife Fastrada a ring that would bind her to the great Frankish ruler forever. After her death, Bishop Turpin found the ring and threw it into the moat. Since then, the ghost of Charlemagne has visited Frankenberg Castle again and again. Only here can he find peace. Today the castle, of which only the main house remains, is a cultural center and in the summer months it is a popular venue for the Das Da Theater. Are you still looking for a great wedding location? Frankenburg Castle, located in the middle of the trendy district of Aachen, is also ideal for this!
