How did the Lousberg come about? Teufel and market woman are reminiscent of the legend.
If you want to climb the highest point in Aachen city area, you cannot avoid the devil and market woman. The two sculptures refer to the legend to the development of the Lousberg after the devil Aachen wanted to fill with sand. After losing his thumb through a cunning of the Aachener in the cathedral door, he wanted to take revenge on the residents. However, the act was prevented by the clever market woman and the sand from the devil's sack poured out in front of the Aachen valley. This sand formed today's Lousberg Aachen.

The monument is located on the Lousberg. This is about 30 minutes walk from the city center of Aachen. No public transport drives directly to the Lousberg.
