Plan a visit

Public heavenly observations are old tradition in the Aachen observatory.

The Aachen observatory is one of the astronomical observation facilities that are traditionally known as "Volkssternwarten", of which there are only 27 in Germany. Their task is to convey broad sections of astronomical basic knowledge outside of university education and research institutions. With a clear sky, all visitors can watch selected sky objects with the large telescope. When the weather is cold, please think of warm clothes . When the sky is covered, an interesting photo lecture on a guided tour in astronomy is offered and the dome visited with the telescope.
