Tim Berresheim
Tim Berresheim, born in Aachen in 1975, is a pioneer of computer -aided art. His work combines an interaction from art history, technology, science and nature. Berresheim studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and at the HBK Braunschweig with Johannes Brus at Albert Oehlen.
Since the end of 2023, the artist, who comes from Heinsberg on behalf of the city of Aachen, has been involved in a large-scale digital art and participation project "from old root new power", in which Aachen students were significantly involved in different age groups and school forms. This participation project is based on a appropriation process that runs through by the participants under the guidance of the artist, which consists of numerous workshops in schools and in selected locations in the city and thus makes a specific contribution to cultural education.
Already in the initial phase of this project, the Suermondt-Ludwig Museum was looking for the dialogue with the artist to integrate the house into the process and open the collection-as a further component of the museum work that is currently strongly based on cultural participation-(he). After an extensive a guided tour of in -house curators, the participants of the VHS College were full of curiosity in workshops with exhibits of the permanent collection and then - in a way that is characteristic of the diversity of the group - a large -format mythological sculpture 'Apoll and Daphne' of the Italian sculptor Filippo Parodi (1630-1702) The starting point for your creative experiments and thinking processes chosen.
