The new year has started and with him Aachen is once again characterized by exciting events, cultural highlights and unforgettable moments . In the middle of the diverse events, our service center selected its very personal favorites . Whether traditional, modern or simply unique - you can particularly look forward to these events.
Lorraine
My favorite event is the cultural street festival "Lorraine" , which takes place on Lorraine Strasse. The festival has a varied program to offer such as poetry slam, theater, dance, food and design stands, live music and DJs. My little daughter also gets her money's worth with the extensive children's program . And on the playground and the Hirschgrün community garden, she can let off steam. It is the ideal event for young and old .
For me, a special highlight is the top parking deck of the Parkhaus Contipark , where, among other things, a DJ and you get a real festival feeling .
It is great that there is such a nice festival that is organized in Aachen love and commitment As an Aachener, you can also discover new local artists and find a nice souvenir . I am really looking forward to the upcoming festival on June 21, 2025!

Night of Open Churches
As every year, I'm looking forward to the " Night of Open Churches ". Parishes of all Christian denominations in Aachen invite you to a broad program and show the places of worship in a special light .
I like it to simply drive myself and let the diverse offer surprise, listen musical sounds meditative or inspiring , to be inspired by spiritual impulses , to dive into installations, to get in touch with people and simply enjoy special atmosphere Let yourself be touched, the next night of the open churches will take place on October 10, 2025. By the way: admission is free 😊.

CHIO Aachen
As soon as the first riders have moved into their hotel rooms, I look forward to an evening with my dear colleague: it is the opening ceremony of the Chio !
As a 10-year-old, I was a "horse girl"- not today. But the evening on the tournament site captivates everyone and you have the feeling of being global highlight We stroll through the tent village , drink an after-work cyclist, eat a bratwurst and watch the hustle and bustle : people from all over the world, poor and rich, young and old.
And then it starts: In the setting sun, the opening ceremony of the Chio ensures real goosebumps feeling mix of show, music, dance, acrobatics and international cultures . A perfect summer evening - not just for horse fans!

Lousberglauf
I chose the Lousberglauf . Lousberg for many years (with short interruptions) , the various jogging routes of which I often run. But I don't just appreciate the sporting aspect on the Lousberg. Numerous paths invite you to walk calmly in nature and the view from above (e.g. with a cool drink on one of the park benches) towards the city center and the surrounding area is very nice. ( Kupferstraße ) you can find out interesting things about the creation of the mountain ...
This is an event for everyone (as well as the company run)!

High between the cathedral and town hall
I am very happy to experience the cathedral jumping in Aachen again this year. The anticipation of this sporty event of a special kind is huge. Experiencing the pole vault up close is a completely different experience than on television! The athletes climb into the air and overcome gravity for a short, well -prepared and precisely calculated moment. It impresses me enormously how you with apparent ease and then reach unreachable heights for me. I imagine how they over the roofs of the city as if they were birds, and a second break in the freedom of the sky. This association makes the experience even more fascinating. And you experience all of this in the unbeatably beautiful, picturesque backdrop of the Katschhof between the historical town hall and the World Heritage Site Aachen Cathedral !
An exciting, big event, framed by the most beautiful sights in our city - always a pleasure!
