Öcher Schängche city puppet stage

The Öcher Schängche city puppet theater has been delighting its audiences since 1921. The program of the popular and traditional stage is diverse. First of all, there are the “children's pieces” (from around 5 years old), in which the proportion of Aachen dialect is a maximum of 40%. Particularly fairytale adaptations and Aachen legends (e.g. “The Devil in Aachen”) should be mentioned here. The traditional repertoire includes so-called “adult pieces” in which the proportion of “Oecher Platt” is higher. In addition to the classics of Aachen puppet literature, this also includes productions of stage works that have been reworked for puppetry.

Adult plays generally take place on Thursdays. Tickets can be purchased half an hour before the event begins in the foyer of the Baroque Factory.
