Description & information about the musical
A run-down flower shop is about to go out of business. When customers stop coming, Mr. Mushnik decides to close his business permanently. But his two employees, Seymour and Audrey, who are unknowingly in love with each other, have some advice: a bizarre, talking plant that Seymour bought from a Chinese man is supposed to save the shop from ruin. With success! The delicate plant becomes an attraction in the city. In order for it to grow and thrive, Seymour has to feed it blood. It happens as it has to happen: like her, her appetite gets bigger and bigger, and so the story soon takes a murderous turn.
Exciting, fast-paced and with lots of black humor, the DAS DA THEATER brings the strange cult musical “The Little Shop of Horrors” to the open-air stage of Wilhelmstein Castle for the first time. Premiered in New York in 1982 as “Little Shop of Horrors,” the film adaptation starring Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, Bill Murray and John Candy was a worldwide success in 1986. Look forward to a musical of a different kind with hits like “Grow for Me”, “Somewhere That's Green” and “Suppertime”. The powerful vocal DAS DA ensemble is accompanied by their four-piece live band - and a two-meter-tall horror plant.
