You can get the tickets online (payment by credit card or Paypal) on our website or in our Tourist Information (cash or card payment). Tickets for public Guided Tour cannot be reserved or canceled.

The meeting point is on your ticket. You will receive this by email when you order online or it will be printed out when you purchase it at the Tourist Information.

Most of our Guided Tour start at our tourist information center at Elisenbrunnen.

Theme guided tour or neighborhood Guided Tour may have a different meeting point. You can find the exact address of the meeting point on the ticket.

Reservations are not possible as we cannot block the availability of the guides.

To secure an appointment, we recommend booking directly. Free cancellation is then still possible up to 7 days before the date of service.

You can find the invoice for your booked group guided tour on the last page of the PDF document with which you received your booking confirmation, behind the terms and conditions.

Exception: the Guided Tour “Sweet Aachen” will only be invoiced after the Guided Tour . You will receive the invoice from us by email.

The meeting point for your booked Guided Tour is on the booking confirmation that you received by email. For public Guided Tour , the meeting point is on the ticket.

For group guided tour , the meeting point “Tourist Information am Elisenbrunnen” is usually chosen. If you would like an alternative meeting point, please indicate this in your booking request. The meeting point must be in the historic old town.

A free cancellation of the ats- Guided Tour is possible up to 7 days before the guided tour begins.

Cancellation is only possible during ats business hours and must be communicated in written or electronic form. It's best to send us an email .

The maximum number of participants on group guided tour is 20 people per guide. If you would like to bring more people with you, we are happy to offer you several tour guides at the same time.

Guided Tour through Aachen Cathedral are organized exclusively by the cathedral information office.

You can currently only reach the cathedral information during opening hours on site at Johannes-Paul-II.-Straße 1 (opposite the main portal of Aachen Cathedral) or by email .

Group guided tour through Aachen Cathedral must be requested and booked in writing. Please fill out the form and send it by email to: tour@aachenerdom.de
The waiting times for an answer are currently long.
Reservations for group guided tour are currently processed a maximum of 4 weeks in advance. If you request an earlier request, it will be placed on a waiting list.

You can also only get tickets for public cathedral guided tour from the cathedral information center and only on the day of the Guided Tour itself. There is no online booking option.

A combined old town and cathedral guided tour cannot be offered by the same guide.
The Aachen Tourist Service will be happy to book a guided tour (1.5 hours) for you. This then ends at the cathedral information, where a guide from the cathedral chapter continues with the cathedral guided tour (45 minutes).
The guides from the Aachen Tourist Service have no right to speak in the cathedral and are only allowed to explain interesting things about Aachen Cathedral to you from the outside.

From April to October the bus runs every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (from Elisenbrunnen). From November to December the bus only runs every Saturday at 1 p.m. (from Elisenbrunnen). The tour starts directly opposite the Elisenbrunnen Tourist Information Center on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz.

We will be happy to send you any leaflets & brochures we have in stock. Please fill out the order form. Materials that you cannot select there are not in stock.

Please note that shipping takes approximately 2-3 working days (abroad significantly longer). We do not send leaflets & brochures within Aachen.

For environmental reasons, we will continue to send brochures from an older date until a more current edition of the brochure is available. This can be especially the case in the first few months of a new year. The basic information is still mostly correct. You can also find current information on all topics in the leaflets and brochures here on our website.

Aachen has an environmental zone, which is why a green environmental sticker is required within the outer ring. This also applies to the mobile home parking space!

The green environmental sticker is given to cars whose emissions levels meet the relevant guidelines. The environmental zone is intended to contribute to improving the air in Aachen's city center. You can get them from various emissions testing centers or vehicle workshops upon presentation of the original vehicle documents (not a digital form or copy). An inspection of the car is not necessary.

Electric cars also require a green environmental sticker. Vintage vehicles with H license plates are exempt from the regulation.

Depending on the time of year, there can be a lot of traffic in the city center. We therefore recommend the Park & ​​Ride parking spaces on the outskirts of the city.

Please note our information on traveling by coach .

It is not permitted to stop by coach at the public transport stops at Elisenbrunnen. This ban is monitored regularly.

If your Guided Tour starts at the Elisenbrunnen Tourist Information, the nearest coach stop is at Theaterplatz. From there it is a 200 meter walk to the Tourist Information.

Most parking garages in Aachen have a maximum height of 1.90 meters.

The following parking garages have a greater maximum height:

Luisenhospital parking garage (2.10 meters)

Parking garage at the cathedral, Jesuitenstraße 10: 2.00 meters

Tivoli car park (2.20 meters on the ground floor, 1.90 meters on the upper floor)

The Pontstrasse car park has no height limit, nor do the Park+Ride car parks (with the exception of the Tivoli car park, see above).

The ticket shop in the Elisenbrunnen was operated by Medienhaus Aachen until 2021. The tourist information and the ticket shop only share space. Since the premises reopened in 2021, a café and the tourist information center have been located in the Elisenbrunnen premises.

There are no public toilets at the Elisenbrunnen Tourist Information Office.

There are luggage lockers at Aachen main hof . For larger pieces of luggage/groups, please contact Deutsche Bahn beforehand about availability.

We recommend that overnight guests arrange luggage storage with the accommodation.
