Winter lights. A museum shows what's inside!

New seasonal presentation at the Couven Museum
From December 21st - on the winter solstice - the Couven Museum invites you to escape the winter cold and experience the magical light plays from crystal chandeliers and mirrors in the museum. The museum's historic fireplaces and chandeliers are particularly important in the cold season. In earlier times, heating was expensive and often inefficient - heat storage devices from the kitchen helped to keep the rooms warm. Today, thanks to modern technology, the desire for comfort and warmth in winter still remains.
The exhibition is a short journey through the history of heating systems and light sources, showing how the perception of time has changed over the centuries. Thematically relevant exhibits from the Couven Museum's permanent collection are placed in a modern context in order to make their historical significance and today's influence tangible.
