Euros and cents move from one hand to the next in the money cycle.
The fountain was created in 1976 by Karl-Henning Seemann. The characters symbolize avarice, greed, patronage and begging. Like the money, the water in the fountain flows all year round as it is fed from the thermal springs. Especially in summer, the fountain is a popular meeting place for Aachen residents and guests, both young and old, who are looking for a welcome way to cool off in the flowing water.
