Plan a visit

The Aachen Theater takes you on journeys beyond everyday boundaries.

With a diverse program that ranges from opulent operas to great plays and celebrated concerts, the theater invites you to encounter touching stories and moving characters. The city theater is located in a classicist building that was once designed by Johann Peter Cremer and Karl Friedrich Schinkel. After its almost complete destruction in the Second World War, the newly constructed building was inaugurated in 1951 with the Meistersinger performance. Even the location is historical: the theater stands on the complex of the former Capuchin monastery!
