Insights into the past, present and future of Theater Aachen

On May 15, 1825, the Aachen Theater was ceremoniously opened: The history of this new cultural center began with Ludwig Spohr's "Jessonda" as the first opera and Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet."

"Bravo! Bravissimo! 200 Years of Aachen Theater" invites all visitors to discover the theater from a new perspective. Many historical moments are revisited and presented in an entertaining way through exhibits and documents, or as videos and audio clips. Immerse yourself in the minds of important figures, such as Ferdinand Ries, the conductor and director of the first Lower Rhine Music Festival in Aachen. The exhibition offers insight into 200 years of Aachen theater history, playing with different time periods.
