Permanent exhibition on passion for collecting wealthy Aachen citizens
The very extensive and heterogeneous Aachen Museum treasure is the result of a common sense, a strengthened bourgeois self -image of the late imperial era and the passion for collecting of the entrepreneurs who have come into prosperous in the period of industrialization. Many foundations and legacies came to the museum from members of the museum association, to which the leaders of the then society from politics, business and civil servants, the education middle class and in general the center of Aachen community belonged. The Suermondt-Ludwig Museum presents the collectibles that range from minerals and goldsmiths to carvings and glass art.
