Pop rock musical by Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik-based on the drama of Frank Wedekind
A small German town in the 1950s. A group of young people experiences the most exciting, but also the most difficult time in their lives. The head and body get out of control: first love awakens, your own family annoys and close friendships are put to the test. Wendla, Melchior, Moritz and her friends fight for their freedom and against the close social conventions.
In 1891 the original "Spring awakening" by Frank Wedekind appeared and is still considered a controversial work. Because back then - as in all subsequent generations - the youth want to break up with the rules of conservative society, research their own body and sexuality. "Spring Awakening" celebrated its premiered guided tour as a pop rock musical in 2006 on Broadway. Look forward to rousing live music: The 12-member ensemble is accompanied by the DA-Band, which is supplemented this year by strings. You sing all rock, pop and folk rock songs in German.
