Openair in downtown Aachen

The Roman baths and thermal baths were real hotspots of social life. It was not only bathed and sweated here, you sports, you ate and drank. The thermal baths were communicative. But what did the Romans talk about in the baths 2000 years ago? About upbringing and educational issues, about problematic politicians, recipes, about business and very personal. In short: about gods and the world! In a relaxed sequence of scenes, the hustle and bustle in a Roman bath is shown.
You experience bathers from three generations and listen to their dialogues and stories. The special thing about it: The text collage consists exclusively of original texts from Roman antiquity (Ovid, Virgil, Sulpicia, Seneca, Cicero, Catull et al.), Of course translated into German. Surrounded by everyday hustle and bustle and next to the remains of a Roman column, the audience is invited to the entertaining journey into the past on the stairs in the courtyard, equipped with headphones. Please bring seat cushions!
