A musical of the cathedral singing school for the whole family

Imagine that Paul's letter of Philemon would be on the curriculum in religious education. In this letter, Paul asks for the escaped slave Onesimus, who was looking for refuge with him. The children are bored, the fabric is not interested. Much too far away, far too long ago! This is the starting scenario of the musical "Onesimus' Wonderful Journey", which is performed by around 50 children of the 3rd and 4th classes of the cathedral singing school from May 9th to 11th.

The teacher duo Jacqueline Eßer and René Lantin directs and has used new methods in preparation. "Since we should have paid for an existing musicals expensive on guided tour slizen and fees without being allowed to change even one line of text, we wrote a piece of ourselves and, in addition to our own scenes, also created them with a AI chat bot," reports Eßer.

Two of the songs to be heard in the musical come from the feathers of two in the region of well -known composers: Angelo Scholly, church musician of the GDG limitless, and diocesan church director and cathedral organist Michael Hoppe. A student contributed further music accompaniment.
