As part of the Euregionale 2008, the cities of Aachen, Herzogenrath and Kerkrade decided to create a local recreation area for their residents. The result is a cross-border landscape park that creates a special recreational area for its visitors with a variety of attractive landscapes while walking, jogging or cycling. The park is divided into the areas of the Lousberg, the Soers, the Hasenwalder Feld and the Horbacher Börde. By the way, the name goes back to the horse country park, which forms the basis of the concept of the recreation area.
