The International Museum Day will take place for the 48th time this year. He is proclaimed annually by the International Museum Council ICOM. The aim of the museum day is to draw attention to the museums in Germany and worldwide and invite visitors to discover the diversity of the museums. Under this year's motto "Discover museums with joy“, The facilities open their doors for a varied offer of exciting exhibitions and special insights into the museum world. All city museums in Aachens and the town hall take part in the museum day, which is also an open day for everyone. They can be visited free of charge from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. participating museums.
