The permanent exhibition at the former Nazi Ordensburg Vogelsang takes you deep into the ideology and reality of a place that once served to train a supposed political elite. Through numerous documents, photos, and personal stories, it shows how young men were shaped here to conform to the ideal of a “new German man.” The architecture of the massive complex itself stands as a striking testament to the National Socialists’ display of power. The exhibition reveals how the so-called “Ordensjunkers” in the occupied territories of Europe became perpetrators, while also raising questions about responsibility, seduction, and the scope for action.
