The Aachen Cycling Summer 2025 gives you the opportunity to discover the city in all its facets. There is a signposted circular route (31.4 km or 23.2 km) that can be followed until the fall. The leisurely ride along various natural monuments offers recreation and relaxation for families, couples or groups of friends. Along the circular routes, various playgrounds, nature trails, reservoirs, an outdoor pool and much more offer you a variety of opportunities to take a break.
Originally conceived as a railroad line, the Vennbahnweg has become a popular 125-kilometer cycle and hiking trail. This makes it one of the longest railroad line cycle paths in Europe. With well-maintained paths and numerous rest areas, the trail is ideal for family outings, sporting challenges or relaxed walks.
The RurUfer cycle path offers you the opportunity not only to experience the beauty of nature, but also to discover historical sights. The route leads through Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands via Monschau, past Düren and Jülich to Roermond. The stations along the route allow for individual route planning and make it suitable for cyclists of all levels. Along the way, cafés and restaurants invite you to take a break.
The moated castle route is not just for lovers of castles and palaces. The idyllic landscape of the region connects a multitude of impressive castles that once served as strategic defenses. You can travel back in time through the different eras. Each castle tells its own fascinating story.
The great Aachen circuit takes us on 50 kilometers through rural Aachen and the picturesque old town. It surprises with facets that even locals are sometimes not so aware of. The route is perfect as a sightseeing tour, as it takes you past countless historical sights of the city, which you can experience up close.

On all weekends and public holidays (Good Friday to 01.11), a bicycle bus runs from Aachen to the Eifel to starting points for hiking and cycling tours in and around the national park. The bus transports passengers with and without bicycles. It carries a trailer with space for 20 bicycles.
