Hiking in and around Aachen

The white path leads from Lousberg in Aachen to the Nullander Berg in Kerkrade. There is a lot to discover on this route, from the Tivoli to great viewpoints such as the Amstelbach Terrace. The border crossing into the Netherlands, which takes place over a bridge that is intended to represent the solidarity of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, is a special feature here.

Well-maintained hiking trails stretch along the Wurmtal valley, leading through a variety of flora and fauna. From historic mills, tunnels and a quarry to picturesque villages, there is plenty to see along the way. Wilhelmstein Castle and Rode Castle can also be explored in the Wurmtal valley.

The border route starts in Raeren in Belgium and runs along the German-Belgian border to Orsbach. The route follows the Iterbach to Sief and then leads to Brandenburg Castle. It also goes through the Dreiländerwald forest and Vaals until Orsbach Castle is reached after around 30 kilometers.

The Wildnistrail gives you the opportunity to discover the Eifel National Park. The route is divided into four stages of between 18 and 25 kilometers and starts in Monschau-Höfen. From there, the trail leads past the Rursee lake, the Schliebachtal valley and other fascinating places before finally reaching Hürtgenwald-Zerkall in the north.
