The splendor of the building can already be seen on its historic façade: 50 rulers, 31 of whom were crowned in Aachen, line the central figures around Charlemagne, Jesus and Pope Leo III. The history of the town hall, which was built on the historic site of Charlemagne's palace, also comes to life in the ornately designed rooms. In the Coronation Hall, where the rulers once dined after their coronation, copies of the imperial regalia are still a reminder of those glorious times.

The town hall is located in the middle of the old town. The main train station is approx. 15 minutes' walk away.

Barrier-free access is provided by an elevator. To use the elevator, please contact the staff via the door intercom (to the right of the staircase) at the Marienturm.
