Old Kurhaus Aachen
The Old Kurhaus in Aachen: A building steeped in sound and history
At the Altes Kurhaus, you can feel the atmosphere of the era when Aachen was one of Europe’s most popular fashionable spa towns. Between 1782 and 1786, the Neue Redoute was built according to plans by Jakob Couven to offer guests entertainment and a place to socialize. Even back then, the building attracted people seeking music, company, or simply a special place. Today, you’ll find a cultural gathering place here whose rooms have retained their historic charm. The blend of classical architecture and vibrant modern use turns a visit into a quiet dialogue between past and present.
The ballroom in the Old Kurhaus is accessible via an elevator; a staircase with several steps leads to the Klangbrücke. Please use the entrance at Kurhausstraße 2 for barrier-free access.
