Düren Swimming Lake: A natural setting with a beach and sweeping views of the Voreifel
The Düren swimming lake was created from a former open-pit mine and today serves as an example of how a landscape can be transformed. A wide sandy beach and expansive meadows frame the clear water, which is bordered by woods and reeds. As you walk along the shore, the view opens up to the Voreifel, lending the lake a special sense of tranquility. Many appreciate it as a place where active pursuits and moments of relaxation blend seamlessly, as its history as a quarry pond and its current design give it a distinctive atmosphere.
