Selfkantbahn
Take a short trip back in time on the Selfkantbahn
The Selfkantbahn takes you back to an era when the gentle clatter of a narrow-gauge railway set the rhythm of the region. Amid fields, historic stations, and lovingly restored cars, you’ll experience a slice of living railway history. The route winds through the rural tranquility of the westernmost tip of North Rhine-Westphalia and tells the story of a time when this railway connected the towns in the Selfkant area. Today, a dedicated association maintains the locomotives and cars, thereby preserving an important chapter of regional transportation culture. The ride evokes a sense of authenticity and invites you to discover the landscape at your own pace.
