Plan a visit

Theater Aachen takes you on a journey beyond the boundaries of everyday life.

With a varied program ranging from opulent operas and magnificent plays to celebrated concerts, the theater invites you to encounter touching stories and moving characters. The Stadttheater is housed in a classicist building that was once designed by Johann Peter Cremer and Karl Friedrich Schinkel. After being almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, the newly constructed building was inaugurated in 1951 with the Meistersinger performance. Even the location is historic: the theater stands on the site of the former Capuchin monastery!
