Event
In the Footsteps of Wassermann, Pau, and Kaiser-Friedrich Park
A scenic stroll around Kaiser-Friedrich Park
The walk begins at the imposing Triton Fountain, with its spouting water sprite. You’ll learn about the sources of the Pau, its course today and in the past, and the significance this stream has held for Aachen over the centuries.
Nearby is the popular Kaiser-Friedrich-Park, featuring some extraordinary plants and landscapes, and nestled within it is the Hangeweiher pond, into which the Pau and two other tributaries flow. The Pau disappears into Aachen’s underground at its outlet, and while walking through the park, one can only guess at its course.
The walk takes about 2 hours and is easy to manage.
Meeting point: Triton Fountain (Water Man), Kaiser-Friedrich-Allee
Directions: BusLine 2: “Brüsseler Ring” stop
