Music Festival
An evening of music and culture in the shadow of the cathedral
The Fête de la Musique is a music festival celebrated every year on June 21, the longest day of the year. It was launched in France in 1982 to make music accessible to everyone and to encourage musicians—both amateur and professional—to perform for free in public spaces.
The Institut français Aachen and the Hofkultur Aachen e.V. association are jointly organizing a musical and cultural evening in the shadow of the cathedral, featuring French-speaking bands and/or local acts. Over the years, the event has become a major highlight, and in recent years more than 1,000 spectators have attended the music festival in Aachen.
Drinks and delicious food will be available from nearby restaurants.
