The live literary format known as “poetry slam” features funny stories, fast-paced poetry, political wit, emotional narratives—or all of the above. Performers compete against one another using their own original work, each given a time limit of six minutes. The audience votes to decide the winner and loser.

A total of 16 participants will take the stage at the Grenzlandtheater, divided into two semifinal rounds. From these preliminary rounds, the top 8 performers will qualify for the grand finale at Theater Aachen. For over a year, they have battled their way through numerous competitions with their poetry to vie for the title at the state championships in the U20 division.
