For the 32nd time, the Aachen Cathedral Action Group (AAD) and the Honorary Service are inviting visitors to climb the tower and view the throne, in conjunction with the Europamarkt. This year, on September 5 and 6, visitors can climb the 184 steps in the west tower and enjoy the view of City Hall and the Old Town. Those who wish can make a stop at the King’s Throne, which is otherwise only visible as part of guided tours. You can round out this breathtaking experience with a visit to the “Dom Café,” where the choirs of the Aachen Cathedral Music Association will be serving cake, waffles, and crêpes in the foyer of the Cathedral Choir School.
The organizers from Ehrendienst and Aktionskreis note that all proceeds will go toward the cathedral’s renovation and the Friends of Cathedral Music association.
