An evening of live journalism featuring a lecture and discussion

At “Wörter und Töne,” fact-based, independent reporting meets art and culture. The 2026 summer edition of this live journalism series, founded by Aachen-based journalists Arndt Lorenz and Jens Tervooren, is being held for the second time in cooperation with vhs Aachen. In keeping with the World Equestrian Games, the focus is on sports journalism. The event will examine the job of a sports journalist—navigating the line between hype and the sidelines—as well as the excesses of racism in fan culture and on the field. The continuing lack of acceptance of women in sports journalism is also a topic of discussion. “Wörter und Töne” always seeks out regional perspectives and facilitates discussions on issues relevant to the immediate community. Music and good drinks included.
A collaboration with “Wörter und Töne.”
