The Melaten Campus demonstrates how an area formerly used for agriculture has been transformed into a modern research environment. Since the 1970s, the site has been gradually developed by RWTH Aachen University and today forms the first phase of the campus project, comprising several clusters where different disciplines collaborate closely. Learning and living are top priorities here, as the area between RWTH buildings—such as those for logistics, biomedicine, and production engineering—also features restaurants, a gym, a daycare center, a hotel, and seminar and continuing education rooms. This diversity enables innovative and efficient research by professors and students.
