Since the late 1950s, the bronze sculpture *The Seated Woman* has been a part of life in the Burtscheid Spa Garden. The artist Heike Dobberkau first created it in 1959 and had a second cast made a few years later. Today, the figure stands once again in its familiar spot, after disappearing without a trace in 2015 and being replaced by its twin sculpture in early 2016. As you enter the spa gardens, you encounter a figure lost in quiet contemplation, whose simple posture exudes a special power. It invites you to pause for a moment and consciously take in the atmosphere of this historic spa district.
