Aachen Cathedral Treasury: Discover Sacred Art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
In the Cathedral Treasury, you’ll encounter over twelve centuries of sacred art that have shaped Aachen Cathedral since the time of Charlemagne. The collection is considered the most significant ecclesiastical treasury north of the Alps and, along with the cathedral, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. Here you’ll find precious reliquaries, liturgical objects, textiles, and manuscripts that bring to life the spiritual and artistic significance of the place. The atmosphere feels almost meditative and gives you a sense of just how deeply Aachen has been shaped by faith and culture since the early Middle Ages.
