Aachen Observatory: A quiet glimpse into space above the Hangeweiher
The Aachen Observatory is tucked away on the edge of Hangeweiher Park. It has stood here since 1935 and has retained its original architectural features and equipment, which is what gives it its special charm. When you step inside the small building, a world far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city opens up before you. The atmosphere is calm and focused, almost like a space where time moves more slowly. Here, visitors experience the fascination of the heavens directly through the telescope and gain insights into current developments regarding stars, planets, and galaxies. The observatory combines scientific curiosity with a place that has remained unchanged for nearly a century, thereby preserving a special sense of authenticity.
