Vogelsang IP: A Memorial Site and Cultural Landscape in the Eifel National Park
Vogelsang IP is located in the Eifel National Park and is one of the most striking sites in German contemporary history. The former Ordensburg, built in the 1930s, has been fully preserved and serves as a reminder of the time when young men were trained here to become future leaders of the Nazi regime. After the war, the site remained a restricted military zone for many years. Today, it is an international destination that combines history, culture, and nature. Open spaces, sweeping views across the Eifel hills, and the clean lines of the architecture create an atmosphere that invites both reflection and observation. Exhibitions and learning spaces offer insights into the past and present, allowing visitors to sense how change and responsibility are deeply rooted in this landscape.
