Aachen's City History: Between Art, Perspective, and Digital Space

Tim Berresheim’s monumental 360° wall installation combines Aachen’s city history with art-historical motifs and personal memories. Landmarks such as the cathedral and the theater are juxtaposed with references from art history, including allusions to Michelangelo. At the center is Filippo Parodi’s sculpture “Apollo and Daphne,” which, as a figura serpentinata, embodies the concept of all-round visibility. What initially appears to be a flat image takes on a spatial dimension when viewed with 3D glasses and an app, opening up new perspectives on the interplay between sculpture, image, and digital perception.
