Peter Ludwig would have celebrated his 100th birthday on July 9, 2025 - an occasion for all Ludwig museums worldwide to commemorate the visionary collector and art patron. This anniversary is of particular significance for Aachen: not only is the Ludwig Foundation based here in the family's former home. Two of the city's museums - the Ludwig Forum for International Art and the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum - also owe extraordinary donations to the close ties between Peter and Irene Ludwig and their home town.
