Borderland Theater
Grenzlandtheater Aachen: Intimate theater with a long tradition
The Grenzlandtheater was founded in 1950 by Kurt Sieder and is now one of the city’s most influential theaters. Its productions are known for their intimate atmosphere, as the venue was deliberately kept small, creating a rare sense of closeness between the cast and the audience. The plays range from classical drama to new productions that often take place directly in the urban space. Those who take a seat here experience theater up close, carried by a history that has been firmly anchored in Aachen’s culture since the postwar era.
