Aachen – European flair in the border triangle
When Dutch people mean Aachen, they say Aken. Our Belgian neighbours call it Aix-la-Chapelle. Aachen is the most western metropolis in Germany and it is directly located in the border region of Belgium and the Netherlands. The optimal location of the town – in the West of North-Rhine Westphalia, on the edge of the Eifel and the Hohe Venn and in the vicinity of the cities of Cologne, Düsseldorf and Bonn – makes Aachen the perfect starting point for city trips and excursions into nature.
